Abstract

Objective:To study the clinical characters of recurrent acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods:79 cases with recurrent infarction were selected and compared to 119 cases without re infarction after discharged from our hospital. Results:Patients with re infarction had a higher proportion of smoking, hypertension, diabetes and post infarction angiosus than placebo (62.16% vs 42.86%,59.46% vs 42.02%,28/38% vs 14.29%,47.30% vs 18 49%).Patients with re infarction also had a higher level of blood total cholesterol (5.81±1.26 vs 3.95±1.68, P 0.001),the higher proportion of atypical symptoms (47.39% vs 70.27%, P 0.001)and the higher rate of mortality than placebo (21.62% vs 7.56%, P 0.001).Conclusion :Smoking, hypertension, diabetes and high level of blood cholesterol are main risk factors which cause re infarction.Patients with re infarction usually have atypical symptoms and worse clinical outcome.
