Abstract

From the change of political system and class relations, the development of non-party movements, the change of international political structure and the pressure from the United States, the writer points out that the change of party policy of Kuomintang in Taiwan in late 1980s from on political and their activities to lifting the ban on political parties results from the mutual effect of several factors, and is the self-protective emergency measure taken by Kuomintang against its own will.
