Possible Strategies on the Comparative Study of Chinese and Western Poetics

There exists a great difficulty in understanding discourse in doing comparative study between Chinese and western poetics. This is because most of the scholars who are doing the study do not familiar with the languages and cultures of their objects. The study should focus on the differences between Chinese culture and western culture, seeking for similarities among differences and differences among similarities; studying the different categories between Chinese and western poetics, starting dialogues between both poetics and choosing the appropriate questions and ways for communicating. Hence the possibility of doing a real comparative study between Chinese and western poetics.
