Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture on Bcl-2 of hippocampal neurons in ischemia side and the relationship between these effects and learning and memory in cerebral infarction rats. Methods The model of cerebral infarction rats was induced by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery(MCAO) with clew. The ability of learning and memory were evaluated by Y-maze.The expression of Bcl-2 of hippocampal neurons was analyzed with immunohistochemistry. Results The score of Y-maze in control groups exceeded that of acupuncture groups(P0.05).The positive expression of Bcl-2 in hippocampus CA1 region at acupuncture groups exceeded that of control groups.Apoptosis index in hippocampus CA1 region at control groups exceeded that of acupuncture groups. Conclusion The ability of learning and memory in cerebral infarction rats is improved by acupuncture, which may be accomplished by increasing Bcl-2 expression in hippocampus CA1 region, then protecting hippocampus cells from apoptosis.
