Abstract
Under microwave radiation β-naphthol methyl ether was successfully synthesized using 2-naphthol and anhydrous methanol as raw materials, and polyethylene glycol as the phase transfer catalyst. Then 1,3-dinitro-2-naphthol methyl ether was synthesized from the reaction of β-naphthol methyl ether upon cerium ammonium nitrate. The test results had shown that the optimum synthesis condition was as follows:a molar ratio of 2-naphthol methyl ether:ceric ammonium nitrate=1:1,a reaction temperature of 50 ℃,and a reaction time of 2 h,with the product yield reaching 58.9%.This method features simplicity in operation, and absence of pollution.
