Abstract

Focused on typical steel grades such as heavy rail steel and hard wire steel,the experiments and studies on application of soft reduction have been carried out at Baotou Steel Corp.The optimized process system has improved the central segregation,porosity and shrinkage of the billet.The results show soft reduction technology can produce the qualified blooms to roll heavy rail for high speed rail.
