Abstract
Objective To explore and compare the clinical values of echocardiography and electrocardiography in the diagnosis of hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy.Methods Retrospective analysis based on echocardiographic and electrocardiographic data was performed on 151 patients with hypertension who were admitted to our hospital from May 2009 to February 2012.The two examination tools were compared with respect to the detection rate of hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy.Results The detection rate by echocardiography(64.2%,97 positive cases and 54 negative cases) was significantly higher than that by electrocardiography(39.1%,59 positive cases and 92 negative cases)(P0.05).Conclusion Echocardiography can achieve higher detection rate of hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy than electrocardiogram,so it can be primary clinical choice for non-invasive examination of hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy.
