Abstract

Several cases regarding to expire and production date of commodities raised legal issues on the protection of consumers' right to information. In civil law,the benefit of information of one party in a transaction is recognized and protected by the other party's duty to inform. In modern society, however, such right of a consumer is hardly protected under this mode. Therefore, there is a need to establish consumers' right to information. From the above logic, the right to information of consumers as subject of economic law is shaped to overcome the deficiency of civil law. In the same way,the rights of other subjects of economic law, such as business operators and the government, can be discovered.
