Abstract
Objective To understand the characters of epidemiology of virus diarrhea in summer of 2010 in Qingdao. Methods Stool samples of patients with confirmed viral diarrhea, during May-September 2010 in Qingdao, were collected,an epidemiological analysis of their clinical information carried out.Of which,260 samples of viral diarrhea were taken in random for detection of etiology, and compared with 260 patients with bacterial diarrhea. Results Patients with viral diarrhea accounted for 60.6% of total number of those who came to visit doctors' office because of diarrhea, most of them were young and middle-aged,with mean age of 38 years.Their main clinical symptoms were abdominal pain(48.1%),fever(46.8%),and watery stool(43.8%).The positive rate virus detection in stool was 40.8%,of which,rotavirus(36.8%),astrovirus(23.6%) and norovirus(22.6%) were the main pathogens.Compared with bacterial diarrhea, the differences were significant in terms of catching cold, with or without fever, whether or not with watery stools, frequency of diarrhea, and bowel sound(χ2=4.207-7.964,P0.05).Conclusion Summer diarrhea in Qingdao of 2010 was mainly viral origin, rotavirus and astrovirus being major pathogens, antiviral therapy did not notably improve the therapeutic effect.
