Abstract
The objective of the paper is to find out the interrelated factors and methods which holds up the place in women's handball competitions based on the interrelated analysis of routine technical targets and place in the competitions of the first eight teams in the 9th National Games, Women's Handball Championship in 2002 and the first eight teams in the 15th World Women's Handball Championship. The results show that the blocking rate of goalkeepers, successful rate of defense, the total number of missed scores, the successful rate of shooting and assisting attacks influence the place in the national and/or international competition. The conclusion is that the same technical target exerts different influences upon the place in different competitions, which reflects that different competitive levels and characteristics. Chinese women's handball should heighten the ability of defense and controlling the ball in order to reduce the gap with the power teams in the world.
