Abstract
The study was carried out to determine the germination ability of the sorghum seeds. The experiment set seven NaCl concentration gradients, which were 0,3,6,9,12,15 and 20 g/L respectively. The seeds of sorghum were treated under salt stress and the seeds germination rate, relative germination rate, germination energy, germination index and germination time were measured. The results showed that NaCl stress repressed the germination of sorghum, but that seeds germination rate, germination energy and relative germination rate had no big difference compared with the control under 9 g/L.The restraining effect was significant when NaCl concentration was up to 9 g/L.NaCl stress delayed initial germination time and reduced germination speed of the seed. Moreover, with the increase of salt concentrations, germination rate, germination energy, relative germination rate and germination index were significantly negative correlated with salt concentration(P0.01).
