Abstract
Objective To investigate the evaluation and the efficacy of role of EMG in treatment of facial paralysis in head injury. Methods The hospital from January 2008-2011 May 18 cases of severe facial paralysis resulting from traumatic brain injury patients before treatment and 60 days respectively,in patients with EMG to detect risk of facial nerve compound muscle action potential latency, motor conduction velocity, which leads to the M-wave amplitude values, combined with the corresponding clinical efficacy analysis. Results The ipsilateral compound muscle action potential latency, motor conduction velocity, which leads to the M-wave amplitude before and after treatment compared to a statistically significant difference(P0.05),the first 60 days significantly improved compared with before treatment values. Conclusions EMG can objectively reflect the muscle's functional status, clinical outcomes and prognosis can be determined as a quantitative and qualitative indicators, clinically recommended further promotion.
