Abstract
Based on the results of comprehensive water resources planning in the northwest China and considered of current situations of water use efficiency and development of economy and technology,water-saving standards of this region are purposed for different planning years.Different methods are adopted to calculate the water-saving amount for each sector,in combination of the characteristics of agricultural, industrial and domestic water use.By calculation, the accumulated water-saving amounts in 2020 and 2030 are 2.472 billion m3 and 5.662 billion m3 respectively. With water-saving and other measures and based on the maintenance of a health eco-system,the balance of water demand and supply in this region can be basically realized.
