Social support and hope:effects of mediation and moderation on coping styles

Abstract

To explore the correlation of social support,coping styles and hope on adolescents,320 school students were surveyed with the PSSS,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Adult Dispositional Hope scale.Results:(1) The study showed positively correlation among Social Support,positive Coping Style and Hope;negative Coping Style has negatively correlation with Social Support,but no significantly correlation with Hope.(2) Positive Coping Style showed a mediation effect on Social Support and Hope;negative Coping Style showed a moderation effect on Social Support and Hope.Conclusion: Positive Coping Style has a mediation effect on Social Support and Hope,and negative Coping Style has a moderation effect.
