Abstract

Objective To evaluate the feasibility, accuracy and safety of chorionic villus sampling(CVS).Methods The chorionic villi were aspirated per the cervix in blind method. The choromosomes and G band were prepared by direct villi method or short-stage culture method. Results In 150 samples,6 samples were found to have abnormal karyotype. The results from 35 prenatal diagnosis were accordant with those obtained by chromosomal karyotype re-examination in the amniotic fluid, artificial aborted chorionic villi or cord blood.65 neonates were normal in development at follow-up.Conclusion Chorionic villus sampling for prenatal diagnosis is safe and feasible.
