Abstract

In order to discuss the application of the commercial CFD software in the ship numerical simulation, the commercial CFD software FLUENT, which is widely used for ship hydrodynamic calculation today, is used to calculate the resistance of several types of vessels, comparison of the numerical result with experimental data is included. Advantages and disadvantages of the software are analyzed by the comparison, applicability of the commercial software FLUENT in ship hydrodynamic characteristic calculation is discussed.
