Study on the self-care agency and its relating factors among patients with stroke

Objective To explore self-care agency and its relating factors among patients with stroke.Methods 117 patients with stroke were selected conveniently in Huzhou City.The Exercise of Self-Care Agency(ESCA) was used to assess the patients,and the related factors were analyzed.Results The score of the level of was(103.54±15.21).70.94% patients had the mid-level ability of self-care and 29.06% had the high-level of ability.The result showed that the patients who were female,had a higher educational level or working as government officers or teachers had higher level of self-care ability.In addition,patients' self-care ability had a positive relationship with their neurological function deficiency.Conclusion Self-care agency of the patients with stroke is above mid-level and its correlative factors are sex,education degree,occupation and the degree of neurological function deficiency.
