Abstract
The synthesis of dibutyl(o~-)phthalate from n-butanol and phthalic anhydride with rare earth solid superacid SO~(2-)4/TiO2/La~(3+) as catalyst was studied. The influential factors of reaction were investigated. Results show that the appropriate conditions are: molar ratio of buy alcohol to phthalic anhydride was 4.5∶1; Catalyst's weight was 1.6% of phthalic anhydride's weight; The volume of water-carrying reagent was 3/5 of the volume of n-butanol; Reaction time was 2.5 h. The yield of dibutyl(o-)phthalate is about 93.6%.
