Clinical Observation of Zhibai Dihuang Decoction Plus Bazheng Powder for Treatment of Chronic Pyelonephritis

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Zhibai Dihuang Decoction plus Bazheng Powder for the treatment of chronic pyelonephritis.Methods Sixty chronic pyelonephritis patients with kidney deficiency and dampness heat were equally randomized into treatment group and control group,and were treated mainly with modified Zhibai Dihuang Decoction plus Bazheng Powder,and ciprofloxacin,respectively.Two weeks constituted one treatment course,and the follow-up covered half an year after one treatment course.The short-term therapeutic effect and long-term therapeutic effect were observed,and the safety was also evaluated.Results The total therapeutic rate,total effective rate and total markedly effective rate in the treatment group were superior to those in the control group,the difference being significant(P0.05).As for the long-term effect,re-infection cases were less in the treatment group than those in the control group 3 and 6 months after suspension of treatment(P 0.05).No obvious side effect was found in both groups during the treatment.Conclusion Zhibai Dihuang Decoction plus Bazheng Powder is effective and safe for the treatment of chronic pyelonephritis with kidney deficiency and dompness heat.
