Abstract
The soil from the People's Park was selected with corn seeds for pot experiments.When corns grew up,the effect of different lead concentrations detected by atomic absorption spectrophotometry(AAS) on the plants growth after harvest,naturally drying and division into different parts was studied.The results showed that when the lead concentration was in the range of 0 ~ 500 mg/kg,corn germination rate,biomass and growth increased with the lead concentration increased.However,when the concentration of lead in soil is more than 500 mg/kg,corn germination rate,biomass and growth decreased with the concentration of lead increased.The content of lead in the root of corn was 4 ~ 20 times much more than that of the stems of corn.The conclusions of the experiment are that low concentration of lead makes plant grow better.When the concentration of lead in soil reaches a peak,it makes plant grow impeded with the concentration of lead increasing.The adsorption capacity of lead in the root of plant is much stronger than that of stems.
