Abstract
Objective To study genotype and allele distributions of IL 1Ra VNTR in Han population in Chongqing and make comparason with different races. Methods The VNTR polymorphism of IL 1Ra were examined in 112 controls with polymerase chain reaction methods. Results The A1/A1 genotype was the most frequent one and the A1/A2 the second. Compared with Germany,American and white South African populations, the frequency of IL 1A1 allele in Han population in Chongqing was higher, While IL A2 allele lower, which was similar with the black South African. In Han population in Chongqing, the frequency of IL 1RaA1/A1?A1/A2?A2/A2 genotype were 0.83?0.17?0,respectively. Conclusions VNTR polymorphism of IL 1Ra gene are different in different ethnic populations, which may be of significance in the studies on relationship between genetics and disease association.
