Abstract

The politeness principle is one of the most important topics that pragmatic studies.Meanwhile,politeness is a major object that scholars domestic and abroad focus on.As a common phenomenon,politeness shows its distinction in different cultures.The distinction between Chinese and English barricades cross-cultural communication.Understanding the distinction helps to overcome pragmatic errors in social activities and intensify consciousness so as to gain expectant communicative purpose.
