Abstract

Effects of solution treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of cast-rolled 7050 aluminum alloy were studied by OM,SEM,hardness test, tensile test and EDS analysis. The results show that the precipitated phase adequately dissolves and strength increases when the alloy is solution treated at higher temperature for longer time. The precipitated phases fully dissolve and strength reaches the peak when solution treatment at 480 ℃ for 60 min. When the solid solution temperature or the solid solution time further increases, the overheated structure appears in the alloy, the strengthening effect of dispersive phase decreases, and the strengthens gradually decreases. The optimum solution treatment process of cast-rolled 7050 aluminum alloy is solution temperature of 480 ℃ with solution time of 1 h.
