Abstract
In the late period of Early Cretaceous, the fault activities that dominated the formation of Guixi Basin became more extensive, different sedimentary facies were developed in the different edges of the basin edges and center. The study of lithofacial characteristics of the outcrops and profiles show that alluvial fan facies,fan-delta facies, braided stream delta facies, braided stream facies and lacustrine sedimentary facies were mainly developed in Luotang Group,Guixi Basin, and in different evolutionary stages of the basin, different sedimentary facies were developed with a composition of different lithofacies. The features, distribution and combination of the sedimentary facies demonstrated a narrow distribution, abrupt changes in facies in lateral and longitudinal directions for some continental faulted red sedimentary basins.
