Abstract
Objective: To evaluate ureteroscopy for the treatment of ureteral stones. Methods: 456 patients with ureteral stones undergoing ureteroscopy were retrospectively analyzed. Results: The successful rate for the insertion of the ureteroscope was 99.6% (454/456) and the placement of the ureteroscope failed in 2 cases. The successful rate of lithotripsy under the ureteroscope was 92.7% (421/454) and lithotripsy failed in 8 cases. There were 2 cases of ureteral perforation. Conclusion: The therapeutic effects of ureteroscopy in the treatment of ureteral stones are reliable, the patients suffer less pain and the recovery after operation is rapid. Ureteroscopy is an idea therapy for ureteral stones.
