Therapeutic effect of Tiaoya Yixin capsule(调压益心胶囊)on 50 cases of senile isolated systolic hypertension

Objective:To assess the effect of Tiaoya Yixin capsule(TYYXC,调压益心胶囊) in treating senile isolated systolic hypertension (ISH). Methods:Eighty patients with senile ISH were randomly divided into two groups. Treatment group were treated with TYYXC ( n =50),control group with captopril ( n =30). Therapeutic effect in before and after treatment was analysised.Results:The total effective rate in treatment group was 90 00% and control group was 93 33%,there were no obvious difference between two groups ( P 0 05). But the markedly effective rate in treatment group(64 00%) were much better in the control group (43 33%, P 0 05).After treatment there were significant reduction of left ventricular mass index (LVMI) and improvement of left ventricular dysfunction in both groups ( P 0 05 or P 0 01).The improvement of left ventricular diastolic function and dyslipidemias indexes in treatment group was much better than control group ( P 0 05 or P 0 01).Conclusions: Both TYYXC and captopril are effective in the treatment of senile ISH and in the reversal of left ventricular hypertrophy . TYYXC can also enchance the left ventricular diastolic function and showed benificial effect on dyslipidemias.
