Abstract
Objective To study the effect of bilirubin on experimental hypedipemia in rats. Methods Wistar rats were randomly divided into a control group, simulation group, prevention group and treatment group. The control group was fed with regular water 10 ml/kg a day while the other groups was daily fed with fat emulsion, administered orally for 4 weeks. The prevention group,on the first day of fat emulsion gavage, began to receive intravenous injection of bilirubin sodium injection 5ml/kg.Two weeks later, the treatment group began to receive the intravenous injection of bilirubin sodium injection 5 ml/kg.The control group and the simulation group were injected with an equal volume of chloride sodium solution. The prevention group was continuously injected with bilirubin sodium injection for 5 weeks while the treatment group was injected with bilirubin sodium injection for 3 weeks.24 hours after the last administration, orbital blood was sampled to determine serum TC,TG,and LDL-C.Results In the prevention group,TC,TG,and LDL-C levels were significantly lower than those in the simulation group(P0.01),and were also significantly lower than those in the treatment group(P0.05).Conclusions Bilirubin sodium in rat experimental hyperlipemia, has not only obvious therapeutic effect, but also have a preventive effect on TC,TG,and LDL-C.It is a new effective treatment of hyperlipidemia.
