Abstract
Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of Chihong Huoxue Tuihuang Decoction (CHTD) for the treatment of viral hepatitis with hyperbilirubinemia. Methods:Two hundred and twenty-one patients were randomized into 2 groups:the control group (n=109) was given routine western medicine, and the treatment group (n=112) was given routine western medicine and CHTD.The changes of hepatic function, serum total bilirubin(TBil),direct bilirubin (DBil),alanine aminotransferase (ALT),and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)as well as the symptoms were observed in both groups before and after treatment. Results:The total effective rate was 80.36% in the treatment group and 66.97% in the control group(P 0.05).TBil,DBil,ALT and AST were improved in both groups after treatment(P 0.01 compared with those before treatment),and the improvement of TBil and DBil in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group (P 0.05 or P 0.01).Conclusion:CHTD has an obvious effect on relieving jaundice and decreasing transferase level in treating viral hepatitis with hyperbilirubinemia, superior to western medicine alone.
