Metaphor Understanding within the Framework of Relevance Theory

As a very common phenomenon in language,metaphor is pervasive in our everyday life.Its understanding,restricted by many factors,should be conducted on the basis of the nature of metaphor itself.Relevance theory explains metaphor in a dynamic context from a cognitive perspective,which offers a new way to view metaphor and also reveals the nature of metaphor understanding.
