Abstract
The formation of Xinjiang variant of Chinese dialect can not be separated from the people who use this variant as their communication tool.The paper has a research on the formation of South Xinjiang variant of Chinese dialect by on-the-spot investigation,consulting historical data,and using other scholars’ achievements as reference.The area of south Xinjiang variant covers six districts or prefectures: Hotan,Kashgar,Kizlsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture,Aksu,Bayingoleng Mongolian Prefecture,and Ili.
