Abstract

Objective To understand the distribution of Enterococci in biles of patients with cholelithiasis and the changes of drug resistance from January 2009 to December 2011 in order to guide clinical use of antimicrobials. Methods French bioMerieux company′s VITEK-2 bacteria analyzer was used the identify the Enterococci isolated from bile samples, and drug sensitive test was performed. Results From January 2009 to June 2010,74 strains of Enterococcus were isolated;115 strains were isolated from July 2010 to December 2011.Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium were the top two bacteria isolated.Drug sensitivity test results showed that E.faecalis was sensitive to most antibacterial drugs except erythromycin and quinopristin/dalfopristin,while E.faecium was highly resistant to most drugs except quinopristin/dalfopristin,linezolid and vancomycin;Linezolid-resistant Enterococci was found for the first time. Conclusion Enterococcus infections in patients with cholelithiasis are caused by E.faecalis and E.faecium mainly, and the pathogens have different degrees of resistance to antibacterial drugs. It is important to intensify the monitoring of drug resistance and use drugs reasonably.
