Abstract
Objective To investigate the distribution of food allergen in children with allergic rhinitis(AR).Methods 106 children diagnosed as AR were analyzed retrospectively.According to age,the groups were divided into preschool group(2~5 years old,48 cases)and school-age group(6~13 years old,58 cases).Serum specific IgE of food allergens and inhalant allergens were detected by German Allergy Screen System. Results Among 106 cases of AR,88 cases(83.02%) were positive to food allergen sIgE,97 cases(91.51%) were positive to inhalant allergen sIgE.79 cases(74.53%) were positive to both food allergen and inhalant allergens,9 cases(8.49%) were only positive to food allergen, and 18 cases(16.98%) were negative to food allergen and positive to inhalant allergen.Among 88 cases with positive food allergen,34 cases(32.08%) were positive to single food allergen,54 cases(50.94%) were positive to two or more kinds of food allergens. The positive rate of food allergens was in such order:cow milks, eggs, beef, cashew, mutton, crabs and shrimps. The positive rate of food allergen in preschool group was higher than that in school age group(P0.05).Conclusions The majority of children with allergic rhinitis are positive to food allergens. This suggests that food allergen may also be one of the important factors in allergic rhinitis children.
