Abstract

In the two-phase system, the spray mixer was set by means of mist flow transporting with gas and liquid in the same tube,so as to simplify the structure. The fire extinguishing characteristics and rules of two-phase flow water mist under different heat release rate conditions were studied by experiments.Thermocouple tree and gas analyzer were used to measure the flame temperature and oxygen concentration around the flame. The fire extinguishing efficiency was evaluated by fire extinguishing time. The effect of two-phase flow water mist was compared to the single stream. Results showed that the heat release rate greatly affects the fire extinguishing efficiency of water mist;two-phase flow water mist can achieve the fire extinguishing efficiency in lower pressure, while the single stream needs higher pressure.
