Study on geologic hazard control in the migration area along the bank of the Three Gorges Reservoir

The Three Gorges Project is a great water conservancy project.The million of migrants from the reservoir area are mainly settled down along the bank where the geologic condition is rather complex and a lot of landslides and rock falls threaten the security of migrants.Government has paid a great attention to control geologic hazards and appropriated a great sum of money to carry on the large scale control engineering.This paper expounds the characteristics of geologic hazards in different parts along the reservoir bank,the history of investigation and control,the main points of control work of current stage and the major control subjects in future.
