Abstract

Phytoplankton as indication of coastal eutrophication was analyzed. The coastal water eutrophication of Tianjinwas assessed using Phytoplankton community indexes. The result shows that the coastal water of Tianjin was moderatelyeutrophication, but some stations in the water were heavily eutrophicated in some seasons, characterized by heavily eutrophicated in summer and spring, while lower eutrophication in autumn. The assessment results were basically consistentwith the conclusion of chemical indexes assessment, therefore, it was more objective and comprehensive method, specially in the period of phytoplankton bloom which dissipates the amount of nutrients.
