Abstract
Objective To explore the histopathologic and immunohistochemical characteristics of Primary malignant melanoma of cervix and its differential diagnosis. Methods We observed the histopathologic and immunohistochemical results in a case of Primary malignant melanoma of cervix and the related literature was reviewed. Results Histologically, locating under the mucosa, the tumor contained balloon-like cells, small cells and spindle cells, which are arranged in cords, sheets or diffuse type. The tumor cells were positive for Vimentin,S-100,and HMB-45 while negative for CK,NSE,Actin,Desmin and LCA.Conclusions HMB-45,Melan-A and S-100 protein play important roles in the diagnosis. It is worth noticing that the tumor should be differentiated from carcinoma, carcinosarcoma, lymphoma and choriocarcinoma.
