Abstract

The criterion of Common Warehouse Metamodel(CWM) defines a universal language and exchange mechanism for the metadata in the field of data warehouse and business analysis. It provides syntax and semantic of metadata for constructing and describing a complete Information Supply Chain(ISC).It can implement interoperability among software suite effectively, reduce the system complexity, economize the cost and improve the operation of data warehouse. This paper illuminates the foundational knowledge of the architecture for CWM,introduces the criterion of CWM into the data warehouse of power utilities, and builds a model for relationship metadata. It converts the conceptual model to the CWM model, uses the XML document to descript it,and finally creates a concept of relationship.
