Study on Sustainable Development of Tourism in Shaanxi Province Based on the Tourism Ecological Footprint Model

Based on the theory of the ecological footprint,the paper introduced the tourism ecological footprint to sustainable development of regional tourism,expatiated the concept of tourism ecological footprint and founded the model of tourism ecological footprint for measuring the ability of sustainable tourism development.Taking Shaanxi Province as an example,we researched tourism ecological footprint in the large-scale model of regional sustainable development of tourism in the use of quantitative measure,calculated its tourism ecological footprint from 1991 to 2008.The result shows that in Shaanxi province,there is a different degree of tourism ecological deficit and ecological pressure,the deficit is 0.033 1 hm2 per capita,with a trend of increasing year after year,which proves that the tourism of Shaanxi province is in the state of unsustainable development.Finally,it puts forward the available ways for the sustainable development of tourism in the future.
