Abstract
In order to evaluate the performance of high speed amphibious vehicle during its design phase, numerical simulation was taken to simulate the amphibious vehicle's running on the water. An analysis of running resistance around an amphibious vehicle is carried out under the condition of wheel raised and wheel lowered. The forecast is made to the running resistance under given conditions. Visual analysis is also done to the flow field. The obtained result shows that raising wheel is an effective way to reduce the resistance. Meanwhile, the numerical simulation for resistance forecast provides a new approach to study the resistance reduction of amphibious vehicles.
