Abstract
Resistance characteristics of a high-speed amphibious vehicle sailing on the water are investigated by means of commercial software CFX.Ambient field and drag around the vehicle are studied. The results of numerical simulation are consistent with those from experiment data, indicating that the adopted vehicle is suitable for sailing in high-speed.With the increase of Froude number, the sailing posture of the vehicle transforms from a displacement vessel to a hydroplaning one.The resistance acting on the vehicle increases first and then decreases, and its peak value appears when that Froude numberis equal to1.65.During the high-speed period, the reducing rate of the body resistance becomes lower with the increase of the vehicle speed.
