Abstract
Spectrophotometry is one of the most widely used methods for determination of trace Pt, the rhodanine compounds are excellent colouration agent. In the present paper, a new colouration agent, the 2-hydroxy-1-naphthalrhodanine(HNR) was synthesized, the color reaction of platinum with HNR was studied. In the presence of hydrochloric acid solution and Tween-80 medium, SBDR reacted with platinum to form a stable 2:1 complex. The molar absorptivity was 1.02×105 L·mol-1·cm-1 at 540 nm. Beer’s law was obeyed in the range of 0~2 μg/mL. This method can be applied to the determination of platinum in catalysts with good results.
