Isolation and Identification of Porcine Pseudorabies Virus

Abstract
One local strain of pseudorabies virus was isolated and identified from a pig farm in Jiangxi Province.Rabbits infected with the pseudorabies virus isolate showed such symptoms as unrest,tickle,and died.The virus isolate had severe cytopathic effect(CPE) on chicken embryo fibroblast culture.The DNA extracted from the virus isolate was subjected to polymerase chain reaction(PCR) analysis,a set of primer which can be used to amplify 953 bp fragment in the gene of PRV was designed.It was indicated that the isolated virus was pseudorabies virus(PRV),it was named pseudorabies virus GN0605 strain.
