Abstract
The influence of the western world on the east was among the greatest trends in the sixteenth century, and it lent itself very well to the great influence on China and Japan.A number of unavoidable reactions were proposed when Chinese and Japanese intellectuals manifested themselves to counter the effects of the intrusion of western colonization and the challenge of western culture. It was not difficult to observe that Chinese intellectuals did not accept them all,nor did they refuse to learn any of them when faced with the western culture and science.
