Abstract
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of domestically manufactured Ulinastatin on acute pancreatitis and explore its mechanism. Methods A total of 256 patients with acute edematic pancreatitis were randomized into the treated group and control group. In the treated group, 104 patients were treated with Ulinastatin. In the control group, 152 patients were treated with Sandostatin. After all the patients were treated for 5, 7 and 10 days, respectively, the changes in symptoms, physical signs and laboratory data were observed. χ 2 test was used for statistical analysis. Results The differences of changes in symptoms, signs and laboratory data after the Ulinastatin treatment were more obvious than those before the treatment (P0 01). However, there was no significant difference between the treated group and control group (P0 05). The time for blood and urine AMY recovery was shorter in the treated group than in the control. Conclusions Ulinastatin can greatly relieve the symptoms and signs of acute edematic pancreatitis and shorten its time of treatment. Meanwhile, it has fewer side effects.
