Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of restoring anterior residual roots with post-core crown following surgical crown lengthening.Methods Anterior subgingival roots were treated with root canal treatment and surgical crown lengthening before restoring with post-core crowns.A three-year follow-up was conducted to evaluate the clinical effects.Results A total of 34 teeth from 24 patients were enrolled in this study.Within 3-year follow-up period,one case of root fracture and one case of crown finishing line exposure were found.The clinical effects were functionally and esthetically satisfied in the other 32 teeth.Conclusion Post-core crown following surgical crown lengthening can effectively restore subgingival residual roots.
