The clinical application of crown lengthening surgery in the restoration of residual root and crown in anterior teeth

Objective: To discuss the clinical efficacy of crown lengthening surgery on the restoration of residual root and crown with subgingivally involved defect in anterior teeth.Methods: 34 anterior teeth with subgingival dental defect from 30 patients were selected and the subgingival depth of the defect≤3mm.Expose the subgingival tooth section by the crown lengthing surgery and the restoration of crown was performed 6 weeks after the surgery.Results: Out of 34 affected teeth (30 cases),31 teeth were treated successfully and successful ratio was 91.18%.Conclusion: In good indication,the crown lengthening surgery in favor of the preservation and restoration of the anterior residual crown and root,can improve the effectiveness of restorative treatment.
