Reinvestigation into the Dispute on the Manchu-han relations in the 1911 Revolution-focusing on Minbao and Xin Min Cong Bao

Abstract

Minbao(People's News,official newspaper of Revolutionaries) and Xin Min Cong Bao(Xinmin Series Newspaper,set up by Liang Qichao,representative figure of constitutionalists) have a lot of arguments on the Manchu-han relations.They mainly focused on the following three points:whether Manchu and Han belong to the same race and whether Man has been assimilated by Han;how to treat the history of dynasty change from Ming to Qing;how to look on the Manchu-han relations and constitutional politics.It is necessary for us to reinvestigate into the right and wrong points of the two schools.
