Abstract

MPLS is an improvement of the conventional IP over ATM technology.The fundamental idea of MPLS is boundary routing and central switching. This paper gives a general review to the history and development of network switching technology. Then it introduces the architecture, signaling protocol and QoS of MPLS.At last, it introduces an application of MPLS technology.
