Abstract
Nanometer solid super acid SO42-/Fe2O3 was prepared by FeCl3 solution. The spectrum of TEM indicated that it was crystalline, and approximately 100 nm.The FT-IR of SO42-on the surface of metal oxides indicted that the catalyst had catalytic activity. The Nipogin ester was synthesized from iso-Butyl alcohol and p-hydroxybenzoic acid and catalyzed by nanometer solid super acid SO42-/Fe2O3.The influencing factors of the reaction were investigated through orthogonal experiments. The optimal reaction conditions were obtained as follows: the mole ratio of alcohol to acid was 4∶1,the quantities of catalyst were 3.0%,and reaction time was 3.0h,the reaction temperature was 130 ℃.The etherification yield reached 79.5 percent. The repetitive use of this catalyst was also reviewed.
