Abstract
Production of biodiesel from castor oil by transesterification was studied.The results of trials indicated that the optimal parameters were that the amount of catalyst was 1% of the weight of the castor oil,the amount of methanol was 20% of the weight of the casor oil,the reaction temperature was 65℃ and the reaction time was 90 min.The transesterification rate reached 86%.
